Mechanization for Agriculture
Autumn 2021
This module introduces approaches to mechanization in agriculture to improve productivity and promote food security
Outcomes
At the end of this class, students understood the basics of farm mechanization to improve productivity, how to conduct feasibility analyses of farm equipment, major equipment needed for farm mechanization, and principles of farm tractor
Post-harvest technology
Spring 2021
This class focused on different aspects of post-harvest technologies such as air vapor mixture, grain drying and fan theories, and design and simulation of factories and equipment for post-harvest processing of agricultural products. This module used a real-world approach in instruction with field visits and many laboratory sessions.
Outcomes
At the end of the class, students understood the basics of post-harvest technology, the design of required equipment and factories, and how to apply these to mitigate losses after harvest in real-world situations.
Upland field machine system engineering
Autumn 2020
This module focused on data acquisition methods to design and simulate upland field machinery. Basic principles of data generation for machine design and simulations were introduced
Outcomes
Students who took this module became proficient with basic procedures and principles of machine design, simulations, field tests, and software such as MATLAB.
Bioprocess system engineering and practice
Autumn 2020
This module focus on the structure and principles of various processing methods required from harvesting agricultural products to consumption with laboratory sessions where necessary. Design of unit machines and comprehensive processing plants related to the handling of agricultural products were covered.
Outcomes
